AUSTRALIA v. NORTH OTAGO. VISITORS RUN UP BIG SCORE. (by telegraph— press association.) OAMARU, Feb. 22. Under a dull sky, with a cross wind blowing, Australia, commenced the third match of their tour to-day against North Otago at the Waitaki High School grounds. The wicket was in excellent condition and the outfield in splendid order. There was a good attendance during the afternoon. Oldfield and Blackie stood out of the visiting team. The home team compiled 118 in the first innings, and the visitors had lost four wickets, for 294 when stumps were drawn. NORTH OTAGO. First Innings. WANGANUI MAKE 325. MANAIVATU’S SECOND ATTEMPT. WANGANUI, Feb. 22. The Manawatu-Wanganui cricket match for the Hawke Cup was oontinupd to-day. In reply to Manawatu’s first innings score of 166, Wanganui compiled a total of 325. When stumps were drawn for the day Mianawatu, in their second strike, had reached 144 for the loss of five wickets. The m a toll will be continued to-morrow. Following are the scores: MANAIVATU.
