' “Certain instances' have come under notice recently where a private local effort has been responsible in quite a number of instances for the establishment of men in certain classes or employment and the Government appreciates what has been done in this connection,” said he Prime Minister, tbe lit. Hon. J. G. Coates. “I feel that there must be a good deal of labour required in the country, particularly at the present time, and any farmei who engages labour will greatly assist in reducing the ranks of the unemploy£cl, “In order to facilitate matters so far as the prospective employers are concerned, arrangements are being mace for postmasters throughout the Dominion to get into communication with a.I settlers in their district and ascertain whether anv labour is required, the postmasters' will then advise the nearest labour bureau of the requirements in the districts and the department wu. arrange the necessary transport facilities for the men engaged. ’ JVXr Coates indicated that the registration where there is no labour bureau will be at the Post Office, nor at the police stations.
