WOOL SALES.
KEEN COMPETITION AT WELLINGTON. (by telegraph—press association.' WELLINGTON, Feb. IG. The fourth "Wellington wool sale of the season opened to-night. The catalogue comprises 27,134 bale's, of which :0,134 were sold to-night. From the beginning there was the keenest competition, a great deal coming from the Continent, while Bradford and America kept the others up to their limits. Fine wools were in particularly good demand and prices occasionally were twopence higher than they were here last month. There was a certain amount of irergularity, but all wools elt the influence of the demand and tlhe lower grades were .dearer by a penny and sometimes more. A feature of the sale was the keen lemand from France for lambs’ wool and skirtings. GOOD DEMAND AT SYDNEY. IY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCI ATTON—COPYRIGHT SYDNEY. Feb. 10. The week’s wool sales have closed with a good demand for all sections at full rates. Comebacks and all grades of crossbreds met with keen request.
