(From Our Own Correspondent). DEDICATION CEREMONY. SERVICE AT ST. CUTHBERT’S. The Ven. Archdeacon Creed Meredith at the evening service at St. Cuthbert’s Church, Manaia, on Sunday, dedicated a prayer book for the prayer desk, presented by Mrs D. Mitchell in memory of her father, the late Mr Edward Newing; a large Bible for the lectern presented by the congregation in memory of the late Mr Francis Herbert Lowe, and a handsome solid brass alms dish presented by Mr P. F. Hammonds in memory of his late wife, Ethel Mai a Hammonds. There was a large congregation, who listened intensely to the Archdeacon’s interesting and inspiring address. At the close of the .service the Archdeacon left to return to Wanganui. CRICKET. A match between the employees of Riverdale Dairy Factory and Joll’s Dairy Factory Employees, Okaiawa, was payed at Manaia on Monday afternoon, and resulted in a win for Okaiawa by 50 runs.
