The Belfast correspondent of “The Times” says Dr Dareoy, Primate of all Ireland, says it is startingly clear that a successful outcome of the Malines movement would destroy the Protestant character of the Church, of England and also completely alter the position of all the churches in connection therewith. “The Church of Ireland will have nothing to do with Malines negotiations,” declares the Primate. “History will show that the English people, while tolerant and slow to move, will never surrender their freedom or bend their necks (beneath spiritual despotism. ’ ’
