TQie weather iva® dull and threaten-* in this morning, but no rain has fallen and the Hawera tracks are still very dry and fast. Several of our local trainers are away attending, the Wellington Cup meeting. Lady Cavendish was the first to work and ran half a mile by herself in sG.sec. Vivo was again responsible for a smart gallop. Jumping off at the six furlong post with Bisox, the pair ran together for a furlong and a half when Vivo put a break on her companion, which she maintained to the finish, heating Bisox by several lengths in 1.15, Bisox doing 1.16 1-5. C. Jackson’s other pair, Benzora and Partaga, were given three-quarter pace work. Reremoana galloped live furlongs by himself in 1.3 1-5.

Barry an da worked twice round, running the last, three furlongs in 37,sec. Pink Bose Glengoriff ami San For a did strong pace work without being urged at top. Orazone, after cantering qnce round, came home the last three furlongs of the second circuit, smartly in 3(Bsec. Onward worked a couple of rounds, a a good half pace. The two-year-olds. Cool Mint and Silver Rule, were exercised on the two-year-old track whilst Ca l I a,pat and Black Odin were worked on the plough. The latter ran three, furlongs in 39sec. IT, McPhee, who. is looking after J. Fryer’s team during his absence, gave Ids horses all pace work only. IChphonium, alter cantering a round, ran home half a mile in 50 1-osec. Royal Acre was slow to get going at the tiix furlong post, taking 20sec to do the- first two. furlongs, lie wa.s picked up by Royal Mint at the half mile and

the pace improved. Royal Acre finished a head iii front in 1.17 1-5. Silent and Mountain Bell finished up the gallops before breakfast by T running over seven furlongs; ihe pair finishing together in 1.331. Sungift, the Australian-bred filly in O'. Cox’s stable, is to be offered for sale, on Tuesday. ■Bright Glow was out this morning and was exercised on the lead. Although wearing a light bandage, ihe mare i.s apparently all right again. Trainer J. Brown Iliad to forego liis trip to. Wellington on account of illness and is at- present confined to bed with a severe throat affection.

Iciogne’s form lias been disappointing and the mare has been returned to his owner to be turned out indefinitely. Golden Flower and Lady Anstruther from, J. Fryer’s stable, have also beer, turned out for a spoil. Weights, for Kgmont meeting are due on Monday next. TAR ANATvI NOMINATIONS.
