FATAL FALL DOWN LIFT WELL
IBY TELEGRAPH - PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, Dec. 3. S. T. W. Weaving* aged 20, a sailor on H.M.S. Dunedin, was found in an unconscious condition at the foot of a lift- well ,in Victoria Hotel at 5.30 on Monday morning with a fractured skull. He died,later in the hospital.
FOUND DROWNED. At the inquest on the body of John Herman Hoft, who was found in the water at Petone after cries were heard at- night, the verdict wps returned that he was found drowned, there being no evidence to show how the deceased came to be in the water.
DIED AS A RESULT OF GIG
ACCIDENT,
DANNEVIRKE, Jan. 3. ■Mrs Mary Rloor, a widow, 65 years of age, died at the hospital last night as a. result of injuries received in an accident yesterday. She was, driving in a gig with her daughter, Mrs Hill, when the horse, in turning a bond in Raumati Road, took fright at, a stationary motor car and overturned the vehicle down an embankment. Mrs Hill escaped with a few scratches.
