KILLS 25,000 YEARLY. LONDON, Dec. 23. Fifty thousand children attending State elementary schools have rheu‘matic heart disease, mainly produced 'by the damp houses they occupy, declared Dr. Reginald Miller, senior physician at St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington.

In London alone, 300 such cases of heart disease are admitted yearly to schools for physically and mentally defective children.

Tlie annual mortality is estimated at 25,000.
