VITAL STATISTICS AT WELLINGTON. (BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Dec. 31. The vital statistics for Wellington district this year as compared with last year are: Births, 2210 (2-139); deaths, 1091 (1110); marriage notices, 1415 (1413); marriages by registrar, 357 (380). Last year’s figures are given in parentheses. FIRE ON STORESHIP. AUCKLAND, Dec. 3. A fire of a minor nature occurred in tiie bunkers of the Kaitoke last night, and was subdued by the ship’s appliances. The Kaitoke' is used as a storeship for coal.
