v TOWN v. COUNTRY. (by TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Dec. 23. Tlie annual match Town v. Country was commenced at noon at the Basin Reserve' under excellent conditions. Barclay replaced Nelson in the Town team, while La-sh (Taranaki) and Gee (W-airarapa) replaced Collins and Neale in the country team. The Town won the- toss and gave the Country team first strike. At the luncheon adjournment at_l.3o the score was five wickets for 107. Latest results are: COUNTRY. Cameron, b McGirr 15 Taylor, b- Massey 7 Naismith, c McGirr, b Massey ... 20 Newman, c Airey, b Massey 1 Beck, c Lamason, b Massey 15 Norris, not out 15 Gallichan, not out 33 Total for two wickets 34 SELECTORS APPOINTED. CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 23. Tlie New Zealand Cricket Council has unpointed t-he following -selection committee for next year in connection with the picking of a team__to play against the Australians: H. Brice (chairman), N. T. Snedden, F. Williams and W. R. Patrick.
