LEVEL CROSSING SMASH.

THREE PERSONS SERIOUSLY INJURED. (l)V TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, Dec. 16. A motor lorry driven by Gilbert Francis Shaw, a carrier at Titirangi, and containing his father, mother, wife, and young daughter, was struck by a train at the Kingsland level crossing this afternoon. The lorry was smashed and all the occupants thrown out. The driver was seriously injured on the head and body, being carried along bv the carriages of the train for 30 feet. His condition to-night was stated to be serious. His father and mother were also both severely injured, the former receiving head injuries and the latter was injured internally. Their condition to-night was slightly improved. The wife and daughter escaped praeticallv unhurt.
