RELATIONS WITH RUSSIA.
PRIME MINISTER TO TAKE NO FURTHER STEPS.

In the House of Commons, the Prime Minister (Mr Baldwin), when questioned with reference to his own speech on the subject of the renewal of relations with Russia, said his speech did not elicit- any response from Russia, and he did not propose to take any other steps in the matter. Colonel Wedgowood (Labour, New-eastle-undcr-Lynee): In view of the interests of trade, could not steps be taken to bring about this desirable arrangement ? Mr Baldwin: I adumbrated the conditions under which we are prepared to consider the resumption of relations. When these art* acceded to it will bo possible to make progress, not otherwise. Colonel Wedgcwood: Wo, Id it not be possible to open negotiations in view of the state of our trade? Mr Baldwin: We have not had any assurance, that the Russian Government has ceased to interfere in our internal affairs.
