Flood damage iti the Oran department alone is estimated at £4,000,000. Many villages were swept away, almost without leaving a trace'. A vast tract has been converter! into a silt covered plain. The dead ie certain to total several hundreds.. Rain continues, hampering relief. Provision convoys have started, but in the meantime aeroplanes are dropping fowl in the isolated districts. •—A.P.A. and “Sun.”
