CONTROL AGREEMENT ALLEGED. QUESTION IN THE HOUSE. IS AMERICAN TRUST CONCERNED? (BY TELEGRAPH—SPECIAL TO -‘THE STAR.”) WELLINGTON, Nov. 23. The member for Gisborne (Mr W. D. Lysnar) tabled the following question in the House to-day: “Will the Prinie Minister take immediate steps to investigatc particulars of an agreement or proposed agreement by Avhich Sims, Cooper and Go., Ltd., meat exporters, and Wright, Stephenson and Co. are to have a Avorking interest for a long term of years in the Wellington, Meat Export Co.'s works, and particularly to ascertain if Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., are acquiring such interest on behalf of one of the American Meat Trust firms, and if there are grounds for suggesting that the said firm is being financed by or on behalf of any one of the American Meat Trust firms. ” The questioner added in a note: “There is clear evidence that Mr W. D. Hunt, Avho is a member of the Meat Board, Avas a party to such negotiations, and that if any such agreement is allowed, it is contrary to the spirit and intention of legislation passed by this House.”
