NORMANBY.

(From Our Own ■Correspondent.) TOWN BOARD. At the monthly meeting of the Normanby Town Board there were present: Commissioners 0. J. Preston (chairman) T. Lloyd, P. Leydon, A. Hills, and A. Galloway. The ranger (Mr G. H. Blackwell) reported on stock found grazing on the streets during the month belonging to outside owners. Unless otherwise instructed he would impound all stock found on the streets after the 16th inst. that had not got this season’s registration tag attached to the chain. It was decided to draw the ranger’s attention to a resolution which had already been passed by the board instructing him to prosecute the owners of all unregistered cattle found wandering on the streets.

The Secretary of the Taranaki Local Bodies’ Association wrote notifying the board that the next quarterly meeting would be held at Eltham on November 30. The chairman and clerk were appointed delegates to represent the board at this meeting. It was decided to put an electric light on the corner of Fitzroy and Hunter Streets.

The Health Inspector, Mr F. G. Coleman, forwarded his quarterly report. During that period one case of pneumonia had been notified and visits had been made to the business and other portions of the township.

Accounts to the amount of £66 19s lid were passed for payment and the meeting adjourned. PERSONAL.

Many residents of the township will regret to hear of the death of Air. Hugh McKoy, which took place, at Dannevirke on Tuesday. He was in business as a butcher here for several years. On leaving here he removed to Hawera, where he was manager of the Farmers’ Ale at Company and the Nolantown butchery. He leaves a widow, one son, Air. R. AleKoy, of Dannevirke, and a. daughter, Airs. Sinclair, of Timaru.
