THE ROYAL SHOW.
A GREAT DISPLAY. IMPRESSIONS OF A HAWERA FARMER. Mr. F. Mills, of Tokaora, returned last night from a brief visit to the Royal Show in Christchurch. Speaking of till© display he told a “Hawera Star” representative that generally it was very good. The outstanding feature was the sheep section, the best and largest he had ever seen in the Dominion. Nearly every district was represented. Speaking of the cattle, he said that the quality all round was very good, and the Friesian® were a strong class. Ayrshires, in which he naturally was specially interested, were not so numerous as he expected but the quality was undoubted. The pigs, be considered, were, though numerous, not of as high quality as would be expected at a llioyal Show. The horses were a fine lot and the Hunter Estate, of Hawera, scored well, principally in the younger classes. They secured five firsts and a second. Accommodation was so hard to obtain in Christchurch that the show authori ties arranged temporary accommodation on the grounds of which many farmers visiting the show availed themselves for the week. The crowds at the opening and on Peoples Day were, very large.
