POLISH-SOVIET PACT NEGOTIATIONS.
INTERESTS IN THE BALTIC STATES

A deadlock has apparently arisen in the Polish-Soviet pact negotiations for l>eaoe and trade owing to Poland’s determination to secure the Polish Baltic interests. The Soviet has rejected all the Polish suggestions in connection with these, as a Polish attempt to come between the Soviet and other neighbours.
The “Iz vestin’’ declares that Poland’s attempt to challenge and dhi?ck 'Soviet influence in the Baltic States represents a most seriou« difficulty, and bluntly tells Poland that only when it adopts a disinterested attitude towards the Soviet Baltic relations can negotintions progress.
