UN EMPLOY MENT RELIEF. PAYMENTS BY INSURANCE COMMISSION. EXPENDITURE EXCEEDS RECEIPTS. Received 10.50 a.m. to-day. BRISBANE, Sept. 23. The annual repoit of the Unemployed Workers’ Insurance Commission, tabled in the Assembly, shows that there were 48,980 applicants for sustenance during the tear ended March 31 last. The sum dispensed was £311,833. The receipts for the year totalled £263,523 and the disbursements £360 958. The rate of contribution had since been increased to fourpence.
