TRANS-TASMAN FLIGHT
COMMONWEALTH’S PROHIBITION. LIEUT. FREWEN MAY FLY T FROM AUCKLAND. (BY TELEGRAPH - PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, Sept. 22. Advice from Australia indicates that Lieut. Frowen’s plan to fly from Kempsie (New South Wales) to Auckland has been definitely suspended, owing to the request by the Commonwealth Aviation Department to comply with regulations by equipping his machine with floats. The Bristol machine used by Lieut. Frcwen is essentially designed for land flights, and conversion to floats may not. be practicable. However, it. is possible Lieut. Frowcn rnav bring his machine over to New Zealand, where there are no regulations such as in Australia, and flying from Auckland via Norfolk Island and will then leave from that island to Australia.
