JERSEY BREEDERS.

TARANAKI COUNCIL. ANNUAL MEETING. At the fourth annual meeting of the Taranaki Jersey Breeders’ Council 1 !, held this morning in Stratford, there was a good attendance of members from various parts of the province. Mr S. J. Hollard (president) was in the chair. The annual report stated that meetings of the council had been held during the yaar at New Pymouth, Kaponga and Stratford respectively. 'Much useful work had been accomplished and uniformity of action arrived at in making representations to the parent body or other necessary quarters. The council considered the question of holding a conference between judges .resident in Taranaki, and after submitting the suggestion to headquarters, a meeting was held on Mr Sampson's farm at Hil'sborough. A very representative attendance of Taranaki judges had a most successful and useful afternoon. It was very satisfactory to note that this, the first' of sucli conferences amongst Jersey judges in New Zealand, had been very favourably commented U|xmi bv farming journals and the Press generally. The council desired to thank the Taranaki members of the council of the N.Z.J.C.B.A. for the assistance given by them during the past year and the Press for the manner in which they publish any activities of the council or matters generally in connection with the Jersey breed..
