Though Quin was put out early in the play after the qualifying rounds, ha had the unusual honour of making a record for the course playing in a bogey match, returning_ a card of 72, and from scratch being six up on the Colonel and winning a special cup presented by the president. Many ‘ of tlte leading golfers of Hawke’s Bay and Manawatu were competing at the championship, which was won bv G. Saunders, of Feilding, formerly a well-known Wanganui player.
