TARANAKI PRESBYTERY.

MEETING AT MANATA. The Presbytery of Taranaki met in the M-anaia Presbyterian Church on Wednesday last, a pro re rata meeting being called to transact special business. The balance-sheets of Inglewood, Normanby, Opunake and MVhangamonvana Churches were received, and grants were asked for each, with the exception of Inglewood, whoso balancesheet showed a very healthy condition. A vote of sympathy, was passed to Rev.. J. D. Wilson on the death of his mother, members standing in silence. INDUCTION OP REV. R. MILLER. Fallowing this meeting .members of Presbytery met to take, part in the induction to the Manaia charge of the Rev. R. Miller, M.A. The moderator, the Rev. J. McGregor, presided and performed the ceremony. The Rev. J. Combes, of Waitara, preached the- sermon, and the Rev. H. J. Fletcher led the congregation in prayer. The Rev. J. Ryburn addressed the. new minister on the dangers and opportunities of the ministry, and to the congregation lie spoke of the loyalty each member ought, ta bear to their minister. The Rev. R. E. Evans, moderator during the vacancy, narrated the steps taken to fill the vacancy. The Rev. R. E. Mills, having made a suitable reply and the congregation having promised loyalty, the minister was duly inducted. There was a large congregation and this entering of a new era in the life of the congregation augurs well for the future.
