Injuries sustained by Ellen Mollouinby, while working for Dorothy Levin, a costumier, of Wellington, in March last, formed the subject of a ■laim for compensation in the Arbitration Court yesterday. Plaintiff was employed by defendant at a .salary of £7 per week. On March 2, as she was about to take customer’s' measure. she flicked down a tape measure which was hanging over a. partition, and the brass- end became tangled or "aught .with the result that it came back suddenly and struck her left eye. As a result she was totally disabled for 15 weeks. After a. brief retirement the court gave judgment for tbe plaintiff for the amount claimed (£6O). with costs. The court allowed also a ...suspensory award to preserve plaintiff’s right to further compensation if theeye’s condition became worse.
