WHAKAMARA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) CHILDREN’S FANCY DRESS BALL.. The fine weather which prevailed on Friday evening resulted in, a. huge, attendance at the Children’s Fancy Dress Ball, held in the local hall. Whakamairq, was well represented, not one family being absent from the function. The children, dressed; in their various costumes, of gaudy hue, presented ay pleasing spectacle" and, alter each item on the programme, were highly applauded for their efforts. Following a sit-down supper for the children, the chairman of the school, committee, Mr. Dobson, expressed, appreciation, of the efforts of the children and of their parents, and also of the ladies, who had helped to make the ball a success. Master Thomas Hamilton, qii behalf of the children readily and capably responded. *
Music for the evening was supplied by Mrs. Gulliver. Extras being played by Mrs. Langley.
