DEATH IN A RELIEF CAMP. (BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) CHRISTCHURCH, September 5. A message was received from Waikari to-day, that a man working in the unemployed relief workers’ vamp at Hawarden had committed suicide by cutting hi.s throat with a razor. No details are available.

KILLED B$ ELECTRIC CAR. CHRISTCHURCH, September 5. This evening the electric rail car which runs on a. branch line to Little River, overtook a railway emp.oyee named 'Frederick William Wiley, who was on a jigger. Wiley was seriously injured and died soon after admission to the hospital. His left foot had been almost severed and he had other severe hurts.

The electric car travels very speedily and almost silently, and allegations have previously been made that the whistle which the car carries is not sufficiently loud.
