HAWERA DAIRY COY. MEETING.
(To the Editor). Sir, —In reference to the above, I would ask: Who but an idiot would expect two voting papers identically marked and identically numbered (51) to pass, undetected and unsuspected, tiie notice of three scrutineers? Is it not for the prevention of injustice or fraud that scrutineers are appointed! to superintend the ballot? None, except one with the distorted imagination and credulity of a fool, could suspect a person of attempting to duplicate his vote when he voted at the chairman's table, in the presence of two scrutineers and the chairman, and especially drew the chairman’s attention to the manner in which lie voted; also to the number of votes (51) Ins naoer wore, seated; _ and surely none but one of warped judgment could attempt to impute ulterior motives to such straightforward conduct.—l am, etc., FRED GAWITH.
