TOKAORA.
(From a Correspondent.) EUCHRE PARTIES. The usual weekly euchre party and dance held in the local hall last Wednesday evening again proved a very enjoyable entertainment-, considering the bad state of tho weather. Visitors were present in good force from all parts of the district. The euchre prizes were Avon by Miss- .M. Lavery, with Mrs. Jack Joyce second ; and Mr. Ted. Lavery carried off the gentlemen’s prize, with Mr. E- Garrett second. Miss Butler’s orchestral music was all that could be desired, and Mr. Poison and Mr. _ “Snowy” Steffert kindly obliged ivith extras, wlinc Messrs.' T. A. Connery and Jas. Frevne as M’s.O. kept, the dancing going Avith a swing. During the evening the chairman (Mr. S. Thrush) announced that on Wednesday, the 31st, the dancing season would be brought to a close with a grand wind-up euchre party and novelty ball. The committee are sparing no pains to make the evening a sue -e»s, and one and all will he assured of an enjoyable time. The committee is making special arrangements at the hall, and will arrange a free bus to leaA'e Hawera at 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday.
