STORMS IN BRITAIN.
HEAVY RAIN RECORDED. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY’, Aug. 15. Heavy storms occurred last night and continued to-day in many parts of Britain. Tbrrentiall rains fell at Bar row-in-Furness, where 2.43 inches were registered. Much. dunnage to property writs done, and train anil ’bus services were’ delayed. In Eden VitUey, Cumberland, both the railway line and the road between Carlisle and the Appelby were blocked owing to a small landslide, and traffic to Scotland had to 'be diverted. South coast resorts have been swept by heavy seas.
