Four justices of the Massachusetts Supreme Court, sitting at Boston as a full bench, heard argument on the exceptions taken by counsel for Sacco and Vanzetti to the decisions made bv Judges Thaver and Sanderson. The main object of the pleadings tendered by counsel for the defence is to obtain a now trial. Counsel based bis strongest argument on the alleged prejudice of Judge Thayer, which, he claimed, precluded a fair and impartial'! trial, but the Attorney-General, in reply, described the proceedings as merely a device to- further del'll y the execution. . . .... The bench reserved its decision till August 19. , . , . Sacco has broken bis hunger istnke, as the result of threats of forcible feeding.
