ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
CHILD DIES FROM INJURIES. (BY TELEGF-APH—PJVEBfi ASSOCIATION.) DUNEDIN. Aug. 10. Last night Charles Francis Jopson, aged eight, while running across King Street, collided with a cyclist. The child was able to walk home, but two hours later head jpains set in. The child was rushed to the hospital, but died -shortly after admission from haemorrhage of the brain. INQUEST AT WAIPUKURAU. WAIPUKURAU, *Aug. 10. A coronial inquiry before Dr. Kendall, district' coroner, was held this morning concerning the death of Francis William Walsh, aged 36. a settler of Takapau, at Ruataniwha Street railway crossing, TVhipukurau, on July 26. Mr. Kent, solicitor, represented Thomas Power, settler, Takapau, driver of the car concerned, and Mr. M. Vance, traffic inspector, of Wellington, the Railway Department. Evidence was given by Power and William Richard Morris, of Napier, enginedriver. The verdict was that death was duo from injuries to the skull and brain, caused in a collision between the ear driven hv Power and the Wellington-Napier mail train.
