The Farmers’ Co-op. Organisation Society report that they have transacted a large amount of stock business during the past week, both privately arid in the yards, etc. Dairy stock is .'•rill in great demand, as 'will be noticed by the averages obtained for the herds sold recently. There is also a keen, demand for all sheep. They report: At Opunake on Monday a good yarding came forward and everything was cleared at recent prices. Dairy heifers sold up to £ll 10s and calved heifers up to £l4 10s, dairy cows £lO. At Kakaramea on Monday a fair sale resulted. Store pigs made 30s, b.f. lambs 10s, boner cows £2 to £2 15s. dairy heifers £9 10s to £lO 10s. On Monday ;at Mr. J. McKay’s annual pig sale a large number of sows and store pigs were submitted to a laige attendance of buyers- The pigs offered were not up to last- year’s standard ; nevertheless a good sale resulted. Sows with litters made up to £7 ss, maiden sows £5 to £6 17s 6d. other sows £4 to £7 10s, Herkhi re boars £3 to £3 10s, Tam worth do. £3. small store pigs. 23s 6d to 295. At Manaia, on -Tuesday a good yarding came forward and a good sale resulted, everything being cleared at satisfactory prices. Fat hoggets 23s 6d, forward cows £4 os, boner cows £2 to £3 os, weaner pigs 15s to 22-s, store pigs 25s to 325. At Waver ley, on Friday, a large entry of sheep and dairy stock came forward to a large number of buyers. Bidding was keen throughout, and a good sale was effected. Mr. J.
Burke’s herd of 50 cows, which showed plenty of quality and were in fair condition. sold as" high as £l4 10s, the average of the whole herd being £lO ss. Air. Geo. Root’s herd also sold well, best cows making front £8 to £l2 10s. On account of other vendors, best heifers sold from £8 10s to £lO, weaner heifers £4 Is to £4 11«, 2-year empty heifers £5 6s to £5 9s. NOTE—This is a select herd of choice Jersey cows. Ages range from 2nd to sth ealvers. They are in splendid condition, the majority being due to calve to a pedigree Jersey bull in August. Calving dates will lie given at sale. Dairymen in search of good tvpev cows should not miss this sale. Cars will leave our Offices on morning of sale.
