ORCHESTRAL CONCERT.

AN ATTRACTI VE PROGRAMME. The arrangements being made for the concert to be given by the Hawena School Orchestra and Flute Band in conjunction with the Municipal Band are going ahead well and promise a successful enterhai i i ment. The young people in the school orchestra and band are most enthusiastic and litre making remarkable progress in their work. The former includes most of the orchestral instruments and they will be able to give a good performance. The flute band, too, has progressed well and created much. Interest when it performed recently. A, feature' o.f the Municiptnl Band combined work will be the “Farewell Symphony of Haydn, with full .stage effects, 'the first’ performance in New Zealand. I t flias an interesting historic story. The trombone quartette will also be a. .popular item. In addition, there will be songs by Muss Vera Module, soprano who has made a great reputation in Auckland. Other 'interesting numbers will be violin duet by Miss and Master Fox. songs by Mr. Aekroyd and Sydney Horsburerh mid diauces by Mrs. Fld-wards-Witson pupils. The whole of the proceeds will be devoted to the school orchestra and band and the Municipal Band’s music funds. Seats can .he reserved at any time at the Opera House sweet shop.
