ELTHAM COURT.

BREACHES OF BY-LAWS. At the instance of the Eltham County Council, William Pipi was charged with riding a bicycle at night without lights. The offence was admitted and an explanation offered in reference to a broken lamp and inability to have it repaired or replaced. A fine of 10s with 12s costs was imposed. The Eltham County Council also proceeded, against James M.cGool, labourer, who did not appear, for riding a motor bicycle at Eltham between the hours of sunset and sunrise without lights. Inspector H. E. Williams gave evidence in support of the charge, and bated that the offender was carrying two pillion passengers behind him. The inspector emphasised the danger of driving motor vehicles under such circumstances. A fine of 20s, with £1 Os 6d costs, was inflicted.
