Mr H. G. Brodie- ’eft by mail train this morning for Wellington. Miss Ena Hooker is in Haw-era- for -a brief holiday amcl ; is staying with Miss Power.
Miss Betty Sturrock, who has been studying music in England for the past two years, returned to Hawera last evening.
Mr. J. Pringle, of AVanganui, business agent for the New Zealand railways, is at present in Hawera in connection with the department’s display at the AA’inter Show.
Mr. Arnold J. -Saunders, wth-o was. an engineering student -at the Technical High School only three years ago, and i- s now serving hi-s apprenticeship with the Hawera Electric Company, and Mr. Gordon L. Beer, of AVaverley, who rs apprenticed t-Q the Wangetnui-Kiadigi-tikei Power Board, have .received notification of their .success in both theoretical and practical examinations, held -by -tihe Ellect-rica-l Wi remen’s Registration Board recently. These successes, whilst only -half way through apprenticeship, are commendable.
