SOUTH AFRICAN POLITICS.

DEADLOCK OVER FLAG BILL. ASSEMBLY AND SENATE DISAGREE. BY CATIU?-PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT. Received 10.55 a.m. to-day. CAPETOWN, June 29. The Union Parliament adjourned when a deadlock occurred between the Assembly and the Senate on the Flag Bill, and the Precious Stones Bill. The latter was designed to control the diamond output and thus prevent a national crisis. Both measures accordingly lapse until reintroduced and forced through at a joint sitting of the two Houses at a special session in October.
