A fire in a villa near Tours resulted ill an officer, his wife, two children, and a maidservant being burnt to death. A quantity of o’o thing soaked in petrol was found, suggesting that the officer had sprinkled the room with petrol, set it afire, shot himself, and leaving his family imprisoned amid the flames.
