NEW SALEYARDS.
SOCKBURN RACECOURSE BOUGHT For £6OOO, a syndicate, consisting of Mr. C. Crosse, Mr. E. AV. Pidgeon, and Miss Flora Colliding, have purchased the old Sookburn racecourse, comprising 87 acres. They intend to Hoax a company and convert the land into sa ley auks for all classes ot stock. Kvor since the Canterbury Park Trotting Club established itselt on the trotting ground at Addington, elioi'ts have been made to sell the fenekburn course. It is tlie intention of the syndicate immediately to set about erecting up-to-date means of housing and handling stock on their land. They sav that they feel sure it will soon become the market place for the sale oj all stock. Particular advantages for this? purpose are possessed by the property, a.s it is close to the city abattoir, and Sockburn is at the junction of the Main South and the Southbridge and Little River railway lines.
