the ART OF STORY-TEILTXO. The third lecture on “The Art of Storv-telling” was given by -Mrs. L G. H Barbour on Thursday evening, the attendance was especially good, and the interest of the class notably keen and receptive. ' Mrs. Barbour spoke on the psychology of the child during the rhythmic period of story interest, and emphasised the necessity for a. definite study of the child before the storyteller can hope to« attain success. “Even as we are part of all we have met. even so must we remember that the child is a part of all lie lias so far experienced.” The ethics of stoiytellin" were also dealt with, ancl opened up a new.and_fascinating phase •of the art. Several members 01 the class told, a story as to four-year-olds. At the invitation of Mrs. Strachan. tlie next lecture will be held at her home in South Road.
