NORMANBY.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) TOWN BOARD MEETING. At the monthly meeting of the Board on Tuesday, there were present: Commissioners C. J.. Preston, (chairman), P. Leydon and E. Lloyd. An apology for absence was received from Commissioner A. Galloway, who is away on holiday. Mr W. T. Hair applied for a renewal of his slaughterhouse license —the airplication was granted, A copy of the New Zealand Gazette and map showing the new boundaries of the Electoral Districts was received. A statement of acounts between the Hawera County Council and the Town Board was received and a resolution was passed that the Council be paid £2OO on acount and the balance when the (subsidy is received from The Main Highways Board.

The footpaths which, are being built up with clay are nearly completed and the portions which have been blinded with screenings and rolled, are a decided improvement. When the work is finished it will improve the appearance of the township. Accounts to the amount of £255 12s 2d were passed for payment.
