Meanwhile the voting of the Synods at -Southwark, Sheffield aucl Ely, which was confined to the clergy, was 818 in favour of .reform and 178 against. Consequently it is believed that there will he an assured majority' in favour of the new Prayer Book at the Church Assembly, to be held an July 4.
