APPARENTLY MAJORITY IN FAVOUR OF IT. BY CA 81.8--PRESS ASSOCIATION COPY RIGm LONDON. June 15. Twenty important Diocesan conferences, including that of the laity, recorded. votes -in favour of (the new Prayer Book by 5152 as -against 1135. the apposition biais (apparently been localised, and is most notable tin London, Manchester, Blackburn and Chester, where Protestantism has long held a strong position. Meanwhile the voting of the Synods at -Southwark, Sheffield aucl Ely, which was confined to the clergy, was 818 in favour of .reform and 178 against. Consequently it is believed that there will he an assured majority' in favour of the new Prayer Book at the Church Assembly, to be held an July 4.
