SURVEYORS’ DISPUTE.
AN OFFICIAL STATEMENT
(BY TELEGRAPH—BP-ESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, June 15.
The following message has been received by the Dominion SurveyorGeneral from the Surveyor-General at Perth: “I understand that the Institute. of Surveyors here is endeavouring through the New Zealand Institute, to prevent New Zealand suiweyors from accepting appointments in the West Australian Survey Department. Their statements published here, are absolutely untrue. They desire to create a. monopoly by preventing the department- employing a staff of men. New Zealand surveyors engaged by you can he assured that their interests Avil.l be fully protected, Avith an opportunity of promotion to positions with a maximum classification of £576 and £7OB, as increased by the Appeal Board. There -is a large programme of work here.”
