PLAINTIFF AWARDED DAMAGES
(BV TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, June 2. . A libel action in which Ada Francis Walker claimed £IOOO damages from Andrew Phillips, licensee/ of the Royal Hotel, Westport, and his wife, Olive Phillips, concluded to-day before Mr Justice Macgregor and a jury. The plaintiff claimed that her moral character had been defamed in letters which she alleged were written by the defendant. Olive Phillips. The jury awarded plaintiff £IOO. Judgment was entered accordingly.
