PEDIGREE JERSEYS.
TWO IMPORTANT SALES. A large number of fine pedigree Jerseys were submitted at the sale iat Bell Block yesterday of F. W. Cornwall’s and J. S. Jones’s cattle, conducted by Farmers’ Co-op. and Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., in conjunction. The sale arrangements made were sueli as to give the utmost comfort to all attending. Though prices were not as high as expected, Mr Cornwall put a reserve on onlv a few of his cattle, but an Mr Jones’s case all but three cows and seven heifers were passed in, not reaching the owner’s ideas of value. The top figure was secured by Mr Cornwall’s heifer Oaklands Mermaid, 125 guineas, going to a South African buyer. Mr Jones’s heifer Silverley’s Lady Viola- went up to 170 guineas, but was withdrawn, the owner’s reserve being 300. guineas. Messrs C. G. Trotter and S. Chisholm, of the Fanners’ Co-op., conducted the- selling, and Mr C. E. Robertson was sales manager. The list of cattle sold was as -below: THE OAKLANDS CATTLE. HEIFERS.
