CROSS-CO Uls TR Y CH AMPION SHIP. REPRESENTATION QUESTION. (BY TELEGRAPH - PRESB ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, May 24. The council of tliei New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association has advised the Wellington Centre that its policy regarding representation at the- crosscountry championship of Australia and New Zealand, at Adelaide on August 6. wjas declared, at the last conference of centres, namely, that the council could not (inane© such a venture. If the tour is to proceed, it would require to be liuaueed bv the* centres. The cost being approximately £t>o per man, the opinion in athletic circles 'in Wellington is that, if the plan of a touring team is to go forward, the centres will require to ‘act promptly, otherwise the date set down for the decision of the New Zaland cross-country championships at Christchurch on July 2 would require to be set back.
