EUCHRE PARTY

The third of the fortnightly euchre parties was held on Tuesday evening and again proved .a successful and enjoyable function there being, a good attendance and keen competition for the prizes. Mrs. Eklen proved the winner of the ladies’ prize (a box of handkerchiefs), having won eight @ame,s out of the- ten played. Several other ladies had seven games to their credit.. The gentlemen’s prize (an “Eversharp” pencil) was won by Mr. F. Lichtwark after playing off with Mr. J. Gibson, they having also won eight games each and played an exciting and evenly contested final. Several other gentlemen won .seven games. After the euchre an enjoyable dance took place, the music for which \tu.s provided by several local ladies and Mr. C. Jeffries.
