JUNIOR SEVEN-Ai-SIDE TOURNAMENT.
The junior seven-a-side tournament provided a continuous source of entertainment, for although there was no outstanding brilliance in the work ot any of the contesting’ teams, the issues were, in the majority of bouts, closely fought out. The final enencounter between A\ r aimia.te B and Okaiawa A was really exciting, resulting, as was wished for by most ot the spectators, in a win for AVaimate. There was a AVaimate crowd on the ground, and, therefore, the win was popular. However, jthe Blue and Blacks deserved their victory, which was put info concrete figures by M. Joyce who secured firtim a eross-lriek penalty by one of his own team, beat two defenders with a good swerve, and crossed to register the only score of the bout.
Each member of the winning team receives a medal, and the team holds for one year the Hikaka Memorial Cup, which must be won twice in succession or three times at intervals before becoming the absolute property of any team.
