The visit of the Americans, Tilden and Hunter, on the eve of Germany’s re-entry to competitive lawn tennis, aroused enthusiasm. Five thousand, people witnessed the exhibition matches in which Hunter beat Las'demann, who is regarded as the most prominent young German star, 6 —2, 6—l, 9 —7. The veteran Fronzheim showed , occasional flashes of his former brilliancy in a set against Tilden. who won 6—4.
