The Forbury Park Trotting meeting continued in perfect weather to-day. The track was in fine order and there was a big crowd present.

NOTES ON THE RACING

DUNEDIN, May 7. In the Tahuna Handicap the favourites, Avalanche and Jock Bingen, lost all chances at the post. George Huon led, and Red Peter dropped: out after half a mile. The former and Wee Patch established a strong lead, which they kept, having the finish to themselves.

In the Royal Handicap, Chimes fell before tlie start. Needles showed the way to No Fear and Winnie Chrysler. Asset drew into third place with a mile gone. No Fear fell and brought down the others. Asset luckily escaped, and went on with a big lead, winning easing up.

In the Pacific Handicap, Rolling Bells stood, at the post. After five furlongs Mountain Chimes took the lead, winning easily. Nourmalial led into the last lap of the Improvers’ Handicap from Katute, hut broke with three furlongs to go, leaviiig Great Bell in second place. Half-way down the straight the latter had the race safe. Harry Audubon led for a mile in tlie Victory Handicap, when Talent went to the front, and, stalling off a challenge by Queen’s Own, won comfortably. Bessie Logan was fourth. In the Peninsula Handicap, Engagement passed Nighborn after five furlongs, but bad to make a spurt to stave off Money Spider’s finishing run.

THE SPORT AT CAMBRIDGE, CAMBRIDGE, May 7. The Cambridge Trotting Club’s meeting was held to-day in fine weather. There was a large attendance and the course was in good order, but a trine holding, through overnight rain. Introductory Handicap, of 100 sovs.; one and a half miles. —2 Paradigm 1,1 Real Todd 2, 14 Amberite 3. Scratched : Lochade, Don Zolock. Won by half a lengtli, with two lengths between second and third. Times, b.St 4-5, 3.53, and 3.55 3-5.

Leamington Handicap, of 100 sovs.; one and ai half miles. —1 Reck!aw 1, 12 Golden Park 2, 7 Signor 3. Scratched : Antelope, Golden Grattan, Olive Thorpe, Andover. TVon by a neck, with a length and a half between second and third. Times, 3.38 2-5, 3.39 3-5, and 3.42 3-5.
