ANNUAL MELTING OF NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL. (BY TKI.KCrH APH PRESS ASSOCIATION. I ' WELLINGTON, April 28. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Football Association whs held today, Sir Charles Statham presiding. He said that he was particularly pleased to see that the association was looking, after the younger players. Mr. Varney, chairman of the council, in moving the adoption of the report, said that they were gradually securing a footing in the schools. There was also a steady influx of immigrants, adding to the interest in the game. Soccer was becoming world-wide and so far as'sport was concerned, would soon be used as a means of improving the relationship between the nations. It was felt that visits-of overseas teams would do more than anything else to bring the game prominently before the public. Officers elected were: Patron, Ills Excellency the Governor-General; pie sident, Sir Ch’as. Skerrett, Chief : .Justice. The Hon. J. Mclntyre, Messrs G. W. Bagrie and T-. A'. McLaren were added to the list of vice-presidents. The council was composed of Messrs Varney, Campbell, F. Sanders, 11. L. Godber, B. L. Salmon, J. A. Milburn, A. J. llyder, A. Renal, W. G. Bryce: treasurer, Mr. Graves; auditor, Mr. N. MeFarlane; representative on Football Association, Mr. A. E. Gibbs; representative in Canada and States, Mr. 11. N. Holmes. A motion was carried to the effect that the New Zealand Council considers the alteration of the Chatham Cup rules so that teams playing in the final ami semi-final will receive the expenses in curred in full. It was decided that the inter-provincial schools competition as run during the past two seasons, bediscontinued and in lieu thereof a com petition be played up to the semi-final in each the final being, alternately played in the North and South Islands. In event of any association, union, league player, official or member of any'kindred sport in New Zealand being disqualified, it shall not be lawful for any association affiliated to the counci to admit such union, etc., with out special permission.
