GIRL GUIDING.
RANGER ENROLMENT. The first enrolment of rangers in Saranaki was held in Hie Forester s .ail to-day. Both Hawera Companies of Guides were present under Captains, Ballaiitine and King. The Brownies were also present with their Brown Owl (Miss D, A. Corrigan) and the Tawnies The President, Mrs E. A. Paeey and a number of members of the local Association attended. Several new Guides were enrolled including the three Brownies in whose honour the Fledging party was recently held These were enrolled by Miss JJallantine. Mrs L. C. H. Barbour, the Ranger captain, was next on lolled, and she was followed by ten members of the new Hunger Company, Mrs John Houston, District Commissioner for South Taranaki, heimr the enrolling officer. The District Commissioner in addressing the parade emphasised the importance of carrying the Guide Lav. and Promise into every day lile. Referring to Anzac Day and the sacrifices then to be commemorated, she said it was up to all Rangers Guides and Brownies to do tlieir duty loyally to God and the King and to help others at all times.
Miss Ballantine also welcomed the new Rangers and Guides, and Miss. Corrigan gave them a message from the Brownies.
